What defines Luxuriousness in knitwear? Here's our take on it. It comes down to three things - knitting craftsmanship, yarn type, and the gauge/amount of yarn. In this case, our scarves are knit in Texas at a small factory that specializes in premium quality using the latest seamless knitting machines. Our yarn is "cashwool", a superfine merino from the house of Zegna, an old and storied yarn spinner in Italy. And for amount of yarn, here is where the luxury quotient was raised: we used 3 ends of yarn. That means each knit stitch took 3 strands of two-ply 30's weight merino yarn, yielding a substantial and luxurious scarf weighing 280 grams per scarf (about 10 ounces). Along with the heft of using 3 ends of yarns, the 19.5 micron merino wool feels very soft to the touch, with no itchiness whatsoever.
